1950's

Young Life begins in seattle

In the early ‘50s Addison “Add” Sewell brought the outreach of Young Life to the Pacific Northwest, and more specifically Queen Anne Hill. Since then, through faithful leadership of many, Young Life in the city of Seattle has been able to grow in incredible ways. The kids and families that we build relationship with now are located in diverse neighborhoods all over Seattle Metro. In Young Life, we believe that "Every Kid, Everywhere" has the right to hear about the amazing person of Jesus Christ. It is our goal to see that this happens within the different communities in the Metro area.

Young Life leaders believe in the power of presence and believe in kids with the hope that they begin to see that their lives have great worth, meaning and purpose.
